The Supreme Court of India ruled that the Union of India could not claim immunity from legal provisions, even if a contract was executed in the name of the President. This decision affirmed that government entities had to adhere to statutory obligations and legal norms, rejecting any arguments for immunity based on executive authority.

Siddharth Bambha underscored the importance of this ruling in ensuring government accountability and upholding the rule of law. Bambha emphasized that the decision reinforced that no entity, including the government, was above the law, promoting transparency and legal adherence.
